I like to take life as it comes, and a chance to see Damian “Junior Gong” Marley and Nasir Jones up close and personal was Heaven sent. Both are two of my favorite artists, and their albums tend to camp in my car’s cd player, but somehow I nearly missed their Distant Relatives tour. I’m glad I got back on track, because these artists didn’t disappoint. The show pulsed with a heavy vibe. Junior smoldered on stage as Nas prowled. The crowd was giving them a lot of love, and they were sending it right back. An extended set with a three song encore is proof enough of the energy in the room.
